As a guitar player I have studied and played many different sorts of music in my life: classical music, jazz, pop, blues ... I had always been fond of  Irish folk music too, but never actually played in an Irish folk band or something. After a holiday trip in Ireland I decided that it was time for me to start performing this wonderful kind of music.

So I made my first steps into the Dutch/Irish folk scene and met Joost and James. Together we have been playing and performing Irish music as a group since the spring of 2005.

In Irish Red I sing and play the guitar. I also write instrumentals and songs for the band.
